Background
This scholarship fund is being set up in memory of my dad, Frank Riggio. As everyone knows my dad passion for the bagpipes was incredible. Throughout the past 46 years he has dedicated his time to not only learning how to play but teaching any and all whom wanted to learn. He was the new recruit teacher for the Nassau County Police Department and the Suffolk County Police Department. He taught the Northport Pipes and Drums along with Tara Pipes and Drums. Frank started the Celtic Friars Pipe Band at St. Anthony's High school and brought them to a level to be able to compete in the World Piping Championships in Scotland. If that wasn't enough he was also instrumental in sending many students to Iona College to continue their careers playing bagpipes in college.
I would like to continue my dad's legacy by providing scholarship money to students that would like to pursue bagpiping or continue playing in college.
All monies raised will be given to students that poses the qualities my dad, Frank X. Riggio looked for.
Thank you in advance for your donation. Contribute
