Frank was kind and gentle. He was a joy to be around. His legacy lives on in his loving family.
Frank came to the back kitchen door at First Congregational Church on a Thursday morning while we were all preparing for the Soup-er Thursday lunch we serve to any and all who are in need of a home-cooked meal and fellowship with us and one another. We took to Frank right away for his generous spirit and the quality of his green thumb. We were always looking forward to his Veggie visits at the door and the seasoning of his lively personality. We will miss him when we begin Soup-er Thursday anew. Thank you, Frank, for everything!
I didn’t meet Frank until he joined the tai chi group at the Friendship Center, but I wish I had met him earlier. At first I knew him only as a welcome addition to the group of guys who always chatted (at the guys table) before class, always friendly and ready to easily enter any topic of conversation. Eventually we argued over our nutrition gurus (both Doctor G’s), talked about gardens, and shared our enthusiasms--XC skiing for me and greenhouse gardening for Frank. (I was impressed when he showed me the greenhouses he built on his Wisconsin land.) Frank seemed always eager to share his interests and was open to new ideas and experiences. Even though I only knew him for a few years, I feel the loss of a friend. He is missed.
We are so fortunate and grateful to have known Frank. He will be missed but never forgotten in our hearts.
Dear Nola and Frank's Family---I am so very sorry that the man-glue of your family is away; to be reunited in due time. I fondly remember the times Frank would be at my door delivering one of your glorious bouquets, Nola, always so cheerful and kind. My heart resonates with your learning how to live with the vacuum left.
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Frank's passing. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Sympathy and Love,
Jim and Joni Gromek

We are so saddened, Nola and family, for the passing of a lovely man who shared the produce of his gardens with the Soup-er Thursday Family at First Congregational Church, UCC.
