Frank M. Nagy
October 21, 1961- July 9, 2025
Frank (Ferenc) Martin Nagy of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 9, 2025 around 6pm, at St, Francis Hospital in Columbus Georgia.
Frank passed peacefully surrounded by his family. Originally from New York, he was a loving father, sportsman and coach, hard working family man, and was a man of God who was an active member of many churches.
He is survived by his wife Angela; Sons: Adam (Melissa), Ryan (Emily), Sean, Zachary; Daughter: Lillian/Mistina; Parents: Ferenc, Mary Ann; Brother: Richard (Sandy) and Sister: Michelle (Andy); Nieces and Nephews: Sunshine and Heath (Heather) and Grandchildren Elijah (8) (Sean & Kathryn) Gracie (13) and Elias (9) (Adam & Melissa). He is also survived by family he had contact with from Hungary and Ireland.
Frank went to DeRuyter High School and graduated from Hillsboro Deering High School, learned Carpentry and Building from Vo-Tech. He graduated with an Associates’ Degree in Business from St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, while spending 4 years managing the largest ski shop in the state.
Frank went on to operate two branches for Combined Life Insurance Company and spent 10 years in Management with U-Haul.
Frank started his career in parking in downtown Boston Massachusetts working for Central Parking managing an operation of over 1,000 spaces. He then was promoted to operate the Syracuse Hancock International Airport in Syracuse NY which he did until accepting a position in Ann Arbor Michigan as the Operations Manager for Republic Parking. He was the District Manager for New England and New York and General Manager for Springfield, Massachusetts. He was a board member for the New England Parking Council (NEPC) and helped organize and run many training sessions, annual board meetings and trade shows, as well as organized and helped run their golf tournaments. Frank oversaw operations in six cities with a total of 34 different operations. He then spent 5 years as the first Director of Parking for the City of Ithaca, New York. In all he spent over 35 years in management.
Frank enjoyed competitive sports and excelled in Soccer, Basketball, Track and Field, Cross-Country Running, and Baseball. He also played Saxophone in the school band. As a young man he worked at many summer camps. Frank was an Olympic qualifying professional Skier and became an instructor at Greek Peak (Cortland, NY). He was also a notoriously talented golfer. Frank adopted and raised 2 Children (Adam and Ryan) and coached many of his children’s soccer teams as a volunteer. He was active member of the church wherever he moved. He loved Cribbage, Backgammon, and Chess and was an avid TV buff and live music lover. He loved Michael Jackson, Cassette era Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Y2Country, Yacht Rock, and Praise and Worship.
Frank was a provider, he would help anyone anyway he could, he was a calm voice of strength and reason, he had a huge heart and gave unwavering support. Frank will be forever missed by all who truly knew him.
