Frank's obituary
Frank Stephen Kovalik, 71, of Montville, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026. Born on August 30, 1954, in New London, Connecticut, Frank was the son of the late Rosalie Roche Kovalik and Alfred Kovalik Sr.
Frank grew up in Montville, Connecticut, and graduated from Montville High School in 1972. Later on he moved to Indiana where he worked at WM trucking. Moving back to CT, he went on to build a career at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, where his dedication and hard work left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.
Frank was a man who cherished life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed gathering with family and friends for picnics and sharing a good beer. A lover of tradition, he looked forward to attending his large family reunions each year. Frank had a knack for games—whether it was playing horseshoes or cards—and he relished the camaraderie these activities brought. An avid sports fan, he never missed watching the Indy 500 and was devoted to cheering on the Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys. In his younger years, Frank found joy in water skiing at Gardner Lake, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Though sometimes quiet by nature, Frank’s friendly demeanor endeared him to many. His presence brought warmth to gatherings and comfort to those around him.
Frank is survived by his children from a previous marriage, Jacqueline Christine (Paul), Frank Michael (Danae),l. His wife Patti, and son Stephen Frank (Ashley); his siblings Al (Joan), John (Sue), Patty (Jerry), and Mike (Kerri); six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Rosalie and Alfred Sr., as well as his sister Chris.
Frank’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort to those who loved him.
