Frank's obituary

Frank Allan Fulton

January 3, 1938 – February 11, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Allan Fulton on February 11, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones in Denver, Colorado. Born on January 3, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland, Frank lived a life full of perseverance, dedication, adventure, and an unwavering tough love for his family.

Frank moved to Bay City, Michigan, as a young child, where he was raised by his mother and grandparents alongside his sister. Their guidance instilled in him deep-rooted old-school values. During his school years, Frank played a variety of sports and developed a lifelong passion for tennis. He later attended the University of Michigan, where he played on the tennis team and participated in several other college sports. During his time at U of M, Frank built strong bonds with his Chi Psi fraternity brothers, relationships that lasted a lifetime.

After college, Frank set out to explore the world. He spent several years working on tugboats as a civilian, hauling supplies for the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His love for travel took him to places where English wasn’t spoken, preferring to stay in budget-friendly lodgings and eat where the locals ate, immersing himself in the culture.

Eventually, Frank settled in Denver, Colorado, where he launched a successful real estate career, built on his relentless dedication and sharp business acumen. Despite his professional success, his love for tennis never wavered, and he remained a fierce competitor throughout his life. In retirement, he spent time in Newport Beach, playing tennis, building his budget travel website (which he sold to the Washington Post), and continuing his travels, following the Davis Cup internationally.

More than anything, Frank had a deep love for his family. He cherished being a grandfather and took great pride in guiding his granddaughter, Jordan. He exposed her to the diverse culture and entrepreneurial spirit of Denver, always encouraging her to explore endless possibilities. In his final years, he was lovingly cared for at home by his daughter, Allison Fulton, and granddaughter, Jordan Sulzbach.

Frank is survived by:

His beloved daughter, Allison Fulton, who will forever remember him as a pillar of strength and wisdom.

His granddaughter, Jordan Sulzbach, whom he adored and fiercely protected.

His nephew, Charlie Thompson, of Michigan.

His niece, Amy Thompson, of Michigan.

His brother-in-law, Bill Thompson, of Michigan.

Frank joins in heaven his mother, Helen Price MacDonald, his father, Pierce MacDonald, his sister, Elena Thompson, and his cousin, Cal Price.

A man of abundant experiences and accomplishments, Frank taught us valuable lessons—be the bigger person, always be honest, take chances, stand your ground, and value hard work. His fiery spirit, resilience, and relentless drive left an imprint on all who knew him.
