FRANK's obituary

Frank C. Crook, originally from South Kingstown, Rhode Island, and a resident of Providence at the time of his passing, died unexpectedly on August 13, 2025, at the age of 54. Born in South Kingstown on December 9, 1970, Frank’s vibrant spirit and unmistakable presence made him well known and well liked wherever he went.

A 1988 graduate of South Kingstown High School, Frank went on to earn a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Rhode Island. His career was marked by dedication and a tireless work ethic. He spent many formative years at Casey’s Restaurant in Wakefield, a beloved local institution where he was cherished by both colleagues and patrons. Frank later realized his entrepreneurial dream as the owner and operator of Brother’s Oven Pizza in Warwick, which he ran for nearly 20 years. Most recently, he worked in telemarketing, where his humor, dependability, and energy earned him both respect and lasting friendships.

Frank was known as a colorful individual who lived life with infectious enthusiasm. He had a deep passion for live music, music festivals, and adventures in his beloved Volkswagen camper van. Gifted in art, Frank enjoyed drawing—a talent he inherited from his mother, Isabelle. He also loved collecting comic books and was an avid New England sports fan. Embracing his devotion to the New England Patriots, he dubbed himself “Captain New England,” often dressing the part, and proudly followed the team to Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX. Frank also enjoyed shooting pool, spending time with friends, and treasured his visits to the family’s log cabin in Mount Holly, Vermont—a favorite place of peace and joy in his life. Warm, authentic, and easy to connect with, he leaves behind countless memories for those fortunate enough to know him.

His absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and the many Rhode Island communities he enriched. He will be remembered as a hard worker, a loyal friend, and a man who brought color and light into every room.

Frank is survived by his siblings: Matthew C. Crook and his wife, Leonora; Elizabeth Crook Bernstrom and her husband, Stephen Bernstrom; and Andrew C. Crook. He is also survived by his nephews, Lucas C. and Cameron C. Crook. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Isabelle D. Crook and Nelson C. Crook. Burial will be private.

Keep the light shining and remain colorful, my brother.
