Frank's obituary
Frank Robert Bellomo, Jr.
March 11, 1955 – July 17, 2025
Frank Robert Bellomo, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, and friend, passed away at home in Wilmington, Delaware, on July 17, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born on March 11, 1955, in Rochester, New York, Frank lived a life rooted in kindness, generosity, and devotion to those he loved. He worked for many years in quality assurance with DuPont, a career that took him all over the world. After retiring, he followed his passion for education and began teaching science at St. Elizabeth High School, where he inspired students not only with knowledge, but with genuine care and encouragement.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his son, Jordan, and daughter-in-law, Melissa; his daughter, Sarah; and his beloved grandchildren—Gwen, Mazie, Sophia, Kai, and Rhydian—who affectionately called him Beepy. He also leaves behind his sisters, Patty and Sharon, and many others who were lucky to call him a friend.
His deep love for his family was evident in everything he did—nothing brought him more joy than time spent together with his grandchildren. Frank was known for his gentle soul and generous spirit. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially time spent in nature with his wife and their dog. He was the kind of man who always tipped well and treated everyone with kindness and respect. He had a warmth that drew people in, and a heart that made everyone feel welcome. In all our lives, we’ve never met someone who didn’t like him.
In honor of Frank’s giving nature, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, you honor his memory by showing kindness to others and leaving a generous tip for someone who deserves it.
A prayer service will be held at St Elizabeth’s Church in Wilmington, DE at 10:30 am Friday August 8, 2025. Celebration of life to follow at The Buzz Ware Center in Arden, DE. All are welcome.
