I know this post is well after the fact but just wanted the Vogel family to know how much their Porter neighbors on Marlowe street loved having had the opportunity to be good friends with them during the 1960s and somewhat beyond. I spent many summers at the Vogel family backyard pool and remember Frankie as a young father with a gorgeous wife. His siblings Maureen and Richard were the best babysitters my sisters and I ever had. Later on [1970s] I would babysit Joan's children [Lat, Kitty and Molly]. We also car-pooled with Christopher to Precious Blood school in Detroit. May all those who have passed from this colorful and lively family rest in eternal peace. Every time I return to the old neighborhood, I always slow down in front of the Vogel-Marlowe home and smile...those were GREAT TIMES!!!
I’m so very sorry to learn of Frank’s passing. We, his neighbors, just found out today that he passed away. We’ve been asking after his well-being, & whereabouts for months. Jr. has lied to all of us, with elaborate stories of where Sr’s been, all this time. Frank Sr. was a good neighbor, & a good man. He was cared for, & is missed.
