Rue,So sorry for your loss.   Scott will be Dearly Missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

So sorry Rue at the loss of your husband. May you and your family find peace in the memories you shared.

Carol (Tjepkes )Voogd

I was sorry to hear about Scott's passing.  I remember him from early Fabrazyme days when he was teaching me the hidden "Genzyme ways," at a time I was way "too wet behind the ears."  I will not forget his congratulatory words, "you really showed them," after a presentation I gave many years later in Cambridge, UK about chemical chaperones.  He was a gentleman scientist, indeed and will be much missed.

I had dinner with Scott and several other Genzyme colleagues at a conference in Europe.  It was around the time that Myozyme was heading towards registration for infantile Pompe disease.  I sat next to Scott and had the opportunity to get to know him.  We laughed all dinner, which is what Scott had a way of doing with everyone he met.  He was a beloved colleague who bled Genzyme green and made all of our lives more enjoyable.  Scott - you will be missed!

From Amsterdam I want to send my condolences to the Furbish family.

Scott touched the lives of so many people around the world with his work for patients with rare diseases. When I started in Genzyme in the mid-nineties, young and inexperienced, I could always count on Scott to support me. While collecting data of Gaucher patients in Europe I remember travelling with Scott to many places, sometimes remote. Scott always got the royal treatment, thanks to the important work he did on their life-saving treatment, and thanks to his calm wisdom and extreme kindness. May Scott rest in peace, he will not be forgotten!

I feel very blessed and lucky to have known Scott, and to be able to call him my friend.

It was a gift to be able spend time together when he visited our Genzyme office in Oxford and on the many occasions he came to the U.K.

Hearts were touched by all of us who knew him.

Scott reached out to so many with his compassion, kindness, and humility, from his colleagues, the medical teams, and the patients and families.

I am so grateful to Scott and in so many ways for all his help and guidance, and for being there when we needed him most.

Rest in peace our very dearest friend.

Thinking of you, Ruann. Sorry for your loss.
I am sad for your loss, Chic. I never knew Scott . I wish you well as you build a new life without him. I am happy we had the opportunity to be reunited several years ago.
So sorry Rue. But probably a blessing for you all. That disease is very hard on everyone. Praying for you and your family.

One of the happiest, kindest and sweetest and most peaceful human I have ever met. So grateful for his Minie Me — his son Kevin. Rest in peace Scott. We love you.
