Francis's obituary
Francis Michael Cornell, 59, of Paterson, NJ, peacefully passed away on March 1, 2024, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, NJ. He was born on January 27, 1965. Mike attended Colonial Road Elementary in Franklin Lakes, NJ, and Indian Hills High School in Oakland, NJ. He earned his bachelor's degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University and most recently worked as a Project Manager, Business Information Analyst in the pharmaceutical industry.
Mike had a passion for his children, the Yankees and the Devils, antique radios, fishing, boating, camping, playing the guitar, and had a deep love for music, especially Led Zeppelin. Mike enjoyed restoring old cars and spending time outdoors.
Mike is survived by his children, Matthew, and Molly Cornell; his brother-in-law and sister, Rich, and Molly Connors; nieces Hillary and Shannon; his dear friends from Franklin Lakes, the camping crew, and his close friend, a true angel, Michela Tripodi who stood by his side over the last few months. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwynn Cornell, and father, Frank Cornell.
A celebration of Mike's life will be planned in March in NJ. Details will be provided shortly.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the "Mike Cornell legacy fund" on the https://everloved.com/life-of… benefit (see in lieu of flowers) his children and their future endeavors as well as to share some of the proceeds to a charity for addiction and recovery.
Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew him for his love of family, laughter, music, and the outdoors.
