Francis's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francis Adam Gerard Clair Jr., an amazing son, older brother, husband, father and friend. Francis was born on September 21, 1981, in Casper Wyoming to Robin Nicholson and Frank Clair. He passed away on June 25, 2024, at the age of 42, surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends.
Francis grew up in Fort Collins Colorado, a city he truly loved. Due to his altruistic nature, he had a close bond with each of his siblings. He was always there to offer words of encouragement and a helping hand. Being the big brother Francis always felt it was his job to protect and teach his sisters and brother. Although honesty and bluntness were his approach, he did so with love. To be loved by Francis was a priceless gift. If you know Francis, you know his love for golf. He played every chance he got and made countless friends on the course with bonds that lasted a lifetime.
Francis became involved in the construction industry from an early age. He proudly worked with BC Marble and Granite for over 15 years and then with Renovative Resource. Francis’ passion for construction and home renovation was evident in every project he undertook, earning him respect and admiration within the Fort Collins construction industry. His commitment to quality and his eye for detail transformed countless homes and inspired many.
After many years of hard work and growing up Francis met Allie in May 2018. From the very first moment he met her he knew how special she was and that he was going to spend the rest of his life with her. On May 7, 2022, they were married at The Beach House in Kaui. Francis was a dedicated husband always standing by Allie’s side with unwavering support and love. Just a few short months after their wedding, their families were blessed to find out that the family would be growing by one. Beautiful little Aspen was born February 20, 2023, and became the most important thing in Francis’ life. He was a devoted and extraordinary father, always putting his family first and ensuring they felt loved and supported.
Anyone that met Francis couldn’t help but fall in love with his quick wit and magnetic personality. His sarcastic humor and his stubbornness are part of what made him so endearing to those that knew him. He truly lived life to its fullest and gave so much to all of us. While Francis left us far too soon the impact, he had on all the people he met will be felt for years to come. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and, in the homes, he helped to create and restore.
Francis’ loving spirit is carried on by his wife, Allie; their daughter, Aspen; his parents Robin & Brian Nicholson and Frank & Paula Clair; his siblings, Angela, Rachael, Matthew and Maisey; his nieces Kaylen, Tinnley, and Ariah; his nephew Matthew Jr.; his father in-law Paul Comerford; his brother and sister in-law Max and Alex Comerford and their children Georgia Blue, Cole and Logan.
