Francine's obituary
Born in Steubenville, Ohio, and spending her childhood in Weirton, West Virginia, Francine Finch came into this world as the first daughter to Metro and Theresa Dopudja, and first granddaughter to Angie and Joe Mercurio. She carried with her the warmth, resilience, and strong Catholic faith handed down by her parents and grandparents that forever shaped her life.
She created a home filled with joy, and welcomed all those who came with a cup of coffee and homemade biscotti (a recipe she spent the last few years perfecting!). Sharing a home-cooked meal with her family, whether at the holidays, to celebrate birthdays, or gathering on a Sunday was her way of keeping everyone close.
She had a joyful spirit, and loved to explore wherever she went. She and Paul could often be found in the mountains of Big Bear, soaking in the fresh air, or going for a walk down by the beach. She had a deep love of family, and in her last days reiterated how meaningful her life was because of her close family bonds.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her warmth, her playful sense of humor, her love of tradition, and her steadfast love for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her legacy lives on in shared recipes, mountain views, Sunday Mass, and the deep love she instilled in her family.
She will be profoundly missed and forever carried in the hearts of her devoted husband Paul; children Matthew, Daniela, and Christopher; grandchildren Paige, Luke, Gianna, Jacob, Clementine, and Ronan; son in law Timothy; daughters in law Tory and Karen, and all who were blessed to call her Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend. May she rest in the peace of our Lord, reunited with those who have gone before her.
