Frances's obituary

Frances (Fran) Helen van Eyk (née Cassidy), age 70, passed away peacefully at home in Waretown, NJ on Sunday, June 9, 2019. She is survived by loving and devoted husband Wayne E. van Eyk, son Matthew J. van Eyk, and daughter Stephanie L. Morgan (Jason). Fran is the daughter of the late John P. and Bridget A. Cassidy, sister of Angela V. Cassidy, and was predeceased by brothers Sean, Michael, Edward, and Thomas. Loving grandmother to Lauren Kristina, Fran is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born and raised in Fort Lee, NJ, Fran attended Madonna Catholic grammar school, and graduated from Fort Lee High School (Go Bridgemen!) in 1968. Fran also resided in Atlanta, GA and Cleveland, OH, before returning to her beloved New Jersey in 2007. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, and was always known for her wit, humor, and caring heart. Fran’s love of meeting and interacting with people from all walks of life, making people laugh, and knowing how to have a good time will provide all who were blessed to know her with memories that will be cherished forever. To those who knew her, the courage and determination she showed through the lifetime of hardships she faced are all indicative of the strength she possessed.
A funeral service is being held at Madonna Church, 2070 Hoefley’s Lane (just off of Jones Rd.), Fort Lee, NJ 07024 on Friday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to Diabetes Foundation, 411 Hackensack Ave, 7th Floor, Hackensack, NJ 07601 (https://diabetesfoundationinc…)
