Arlene's obituary

Arlene passed away peacefully at Friendsview Manor in Newberg, Oregon on February 16, 2020. Arlene was the 4th of five children born to Albert Elwood Oglevie and Leila Frances Jones Oglevie. She was born in Kansas near the Northbranch of the Burr Oak Creek, in Jewell County. In 1936, Arlene moved with her family to a farm in Greenleaf, Idaho. She attended Greenleaf Friends Academy from K-12th grade. After graduation, Arlene attended George Fox College (now known as George Fox University) where she met her husband Robert Henry Fiscus.

Robert became a pastor within the Friends community of churches, pastoring in Newberg, Oregon, Tacoma, Washington and Bremerton, Washington. Arlene helped to support the couple through her work at Barclay Press in Newberg, Oregon and also as telephone operator. While in Washington, Arlene took a job as a buyer at The Boeing Company where she worked for more than 25 years.

Arlene loved music. She was a gifted pianist, organist and she also played the accordion. While she could read sheet music, she played primarily by ear.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Frances Oglevie, older brother, Dean Oglevie, older sisters, Agnes Oglevie Tish and Velma Oglevie, and husbands Robert Henry Fiscus and John Henry Richardson. Arlene is survived by her younger brother Lewis, three children, Ron, Rhonda and Renee, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
