Cheri Green
2018, Madison, FL, USA
From Franny’s Grandaughters, Cheri and Michelle:
Franny has always been a big part of our lives. Growing up, we enjoyed the freedom of being able to walk to Franny’s house all by ourselves, across the field. We would stop by every day after school for a visit and snacks. She’d peel our oranges in only a way a grandma would take the time to do. We loved to spend the night with Franny and watch satellite TV (more than the 2 channels we got on antenna at home, lol) and eat homemade popcorn and drink root beer or cream soda. When it was time to go to bed, we’d unpack our special pj’s from our “Gone to Grandma’s” suitcases and get ready for bed, where she would have us listen to the bug zapper to make us quiet down and fall asleep. As we got older, she taught us how to make her famous apple pie, a legacy “the girls” will carry on. We have so many wonderful memories that we will always treasure.
