Remembering Fran today on her birthday.

Reminded of her often as I stroll around the neighborhood we shared.

Picture her smile and hear her gentle laugh in my mind. Miss her a lot.

Fran was one of the nicest people I have ever met. We used to sit together on Sundays. We shared stories about our children and she prayed for my daughter. She shared pictures of her son's wedding with me. I admired how she she kept coming and serving on Sundays inspite of her physical challenges. She always asked for my grandson
and I would make sure that she saw him. I'm so sad that I won't see her on Sundays, but I know that she's at peace with her Lord. I extend my condolences to her family. May God be with you as you navigate the grieving process.

I remember the birth of Nathaniel at Lenox Hill Hospital;
babysitting for each other's kids and playtime at Bennett Park;
the Christmas Fairs at the Steiner School.. (they were the best!!);
the retreats at St. Mary's in Peekskill....
Countless memories of 40 years of friendship with Fran but the most precious have been the prayer times... in my living room back in the 80's and in the texts she's sent in recent years. She truly practiced "love one another". Missing you, Fran xo
Walking into service on Sunday mornings was always a treat when Fran would greet with a smile and a kind word. I will miss those smiles. -Forever in our hearts
Fran loved corny jokes! This was one of her favorites:

A music scholar was touring through a graveyard in Vienna when he heard music coming out of a grave. On inspection, he found the headstone as Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827. The music was the Ninth Symphony being played backwards. He soon rang up a friend who came in time to hear the Seventh Symphony being played backwards. They hurried to call an expert who hurried to them to hear the Fifth Symphony playing backwards. All the more weird was the fact that symphonies were being played in the reverse order in which they were composed. When the caretaker of the graveyard heard this, the only comment he made was, "What's the wonder! He's just decomposing!"
