Augusta, ME - Frances "Fran" Marie Bazley, 64 passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Fran has earned her wings to be with her Lord and Savior and other family members waiting for her in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Fran was a resident of Glenridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Facility for the past 4 years where she became a shining light to all that knew her; staff and residents included. Prior to living at Glenridge, Fran lived with John and Susan Lord of Durham, ME, and Dan and Casey Deletetsky of Auburn, ME. During her stay with these special families, Fran was able to grow in her skills as she also attended the Social Learning Center in Lewiston, ME.

Fran was full of life, always smiling, so happy with her surroundings and the people she would meet. Her laugh was one that filled the room, and one of the many things that made her so special. Fran had a way of entering people’s lives and capturing their heart without even trying. You could not help but love her because of her loving personality, affectionate ways, and the way she expressed her love for others with hugs and smiles, always a special friend; unconditionally.

Fran was well known for her loving care of her baby dolls. She tended to them as any mother would do. Fran would often stroll the hallways with her babies, and even though her stroller was overflowing with dolls, she never would pass up adding one more. Fran loved to shop, have her nails done, sing songs, dance, bowl, swim, she loved to see Santa at Christmas and especially visit with her family. She loved to go camping and in her earlier years, Fran was chosen to be a poster child for Pine Tree Camps of Maine. Fran’s favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz which she watched almost daily and Glinda the good witch became her favorite character of all time. Fran even had a beautiful costume of her portraying Glinda the good witch on Halloween previously.

Fran is predeceased by her parents, Francis and Freda Bazley, of Winthrop, ME, her brothers Merlin, Raynard, and Richard Knox. Her sisters Aletica Knox, Rebecca Frost, Sharol Oliver, Diana Bazley, Leona Aguilar and Sylvia Bazley.

Fran is survived by her sisters, Cynthia Speller, Apache Junction, AZ, Christine Knox Fournier of Livermore, ME and Linda Burnell and Darlene Wheaton both of Augusta, ME. Fran also has many nieces and nephews that she knew and loved dearly, and her special nephew Rob Burnell, Augusta, ME.

A Celebration of Life will be held July 24th at 1:00 p.m. at Buker Community Center (22 Armory St, Augusta, ME). Please call Linda Burnell to confirm your attendance at 207-446-0644
