Fong's obituary
Fong immigrated to the United States in 1984. Through her tireless hard work and resilience, she proudly became a United States citizen in 2008.
She was an amazing woman who truly brought joy to everyone around her. She was a stronghold to the family name. Beautiful both inside and out, with a personality of gold, Fong was an avid beach goer and took every chance she had with her husband to travel the world.
She was a blessing to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who undoubtedly loved them beyond belief. For some of them, she was the voice of reason.
She was a mother to all who knew her. Fong served for decades at Duncanville High School as a custodian, seeing many entering as freshmen, and eventually graduating as seniors. Upon graduation, many would leave her with gifts of gratitude and notes of thanks. She always had the unique ability to impact someone’s life.
Though she is now gone, her family finds solace in knowing that she is no longer lost in this world from dementia, and that she is forever happy with the memory of her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Sourivong Ratsavong, sister Chanh Garino, and brother Tiang Souphankhaisy. She is survived by her brother Thit Souphankhaisy, sister Kongsaly Sopradith, son Boun Souphankhaysy, and daughter Viboun Nanthavongsa.
Prayer will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2019 at Jeter & Son Funeral Home located at 4830 W. Illinois Ave., Dallas, Texas 75211. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the funeral home.
