Florence's obituary

Florence Jane Segler Morales, passed away Friday, December 14, at the age of 82. A resident of Walker, she was a native of Bellevue, Texas, who moved to Baton Rouge in 1959 and has remained in the area ever since.

She loved to watch and feed birds, doing the daily crossword puzzle, reading her bible every morning, and watching old westerns.

She strongly supported medical research, and has donated her body to the LSU school of medicine.

A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she is preceded in death by her mother Francis Elizabeth "Bess" Gilliland, her father Floyd Segler, brother John Gilliland, and daughter Tammy Brookhart. Survived by her husband of 50 years, FT "Joe" Morales, her sister Margie Wilkes, sister Donna Segler, brother Melvin Segler, her son John Morales & wife Sherry, son Joseph Morales & daughter in law Theresa, and grandchildren Christopher Morales, Stephanie Jones, Rachel Morales, Jacob Morales, Madison Morales and Cade Morales.

A memorial service will be held at Denham Springs Seventh Day Adventist church, 27206 LA-16, Denham Springs, La, on Sunday, January 27th at 2pm.

The family will receive friends and family for refreshments immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
