Benjamin's obituary
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Ben Shistle.
Born in Orlando, Florida, Ben graduated from Boone High School and attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida and the Gnomon school in Hollywood, California.
Ben did all things with meticulous excellence. He was an immensely talented artist who expressed himself across a number of mediums, including drawing, sculpture, music and poetry. He became passionate about digital modeling and animation, attaining expert-level skill in professional softwares like ZBrush and Maya through countless hours of self-teaching.
A natural athlete and perpetual daredevil, Ben enjoyed staying physically active. He played soccer, basketball, and ran cross country in school. He found another passion in surfing, traveling with friends and family to catch waves in Costa Rica, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Nicaragua. You could be certain to find Ben at the beach wherever the swell was right.
Ben cherished deep friendships he sustained throughout his lifetime and consistently showed up for his loved ones in their times of need. In his last years, he was a diligent caretaker, seeing family members through serious illnesses, lifting their spirits and ensuring they felt loved and cared for.
We will forever remember Ben for his irrepressible sense of humor, dazzling smile, and limitless kindness.
Ben is survived by his parents, Terry and Patti, sisters Emillie and Moriah, nephews Elijah and Moses Concepcion, brother in law Mario Concepcion, grandmother Ethel Griffith, and countless cousins, uncles, aunts, and dear friends. He will be deeply missed.
