Filiz's obituary

Filiz Aydin Levy, 45, lost a brave battle with leukemia on July 31, 2022, embraced in love by her family.

Filiz leaves behind her devoted husband, David, her pride and joy and amazing son, Jack Sawyer, loving mother, Marilyn Aydin, stepparents Pauline (Ted) Shuler, siblings, Kaan (Essie) Aydin, Alexandria Aydin, and Anastasia (Lucas) Dunigan. Filiz is preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Aydin, and her father, Metin Aydin.

If you knew Filiz, you knew her contagious smile, bubbly spirit, and immensely gracious heart. Feeze endeavored every day to make sure her family and friends knew how much she loved and appreciated them. She had an optimistic outlook on life and always found the good in everyone and everything. Filiz loved to spend time doing nice things for people and making others feel good. She could light up any room with her larger-than-life personality and playful sense of humor.

Filiz’s passion has always been children. She was thrilled to become a mother after years of being a doting aunt. Filiz spent every day she had with Jack pouring her love, personality, and energetic spirit into him. We are so proud of Filiz for following her dream of working with children by recently obtaining her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She was excited for the opportunity to enrich other children’s lives this Fall in a classroom of her own.

Thank you Feeze for loving us fiercely, for brightening every day we were graced with your presence, for the good you saw in each and every one of us, for making us believe in ourselves, and for the unforgettable laughter we shared and will never forget.

While Earth lost the most wonderful woman, Heaven gained the best baby snuggler, bedtime back rubber, sequence partner, puzzle clubber, pool pal, midnight study buddy, FaceTime friend, Starbucks sipper, cookie connoisseur, master list maker, ceramic crafter, plant pruner, cruise junkie and collector of all things cute, tiny, and cuddly.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the caring doctors and staff at UH Cleveland ICU and Seidman Cancer Center for their care, compassion, and dedication to helping Filiz fight her unfair battle with AML. To help others battling Leukemia and these amazing doctors continue their “mad love for fighting bad blood”, we ask that you consider placing your name on the Be The Match registry to determine if your bone marrow can save a patient’s life.

A ceremony honoring Filiz will be held 4 P.M. SUNDAY August 7th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, located at 85 N Miller Road, Akron, OH 44333. Calling hours will take place from 2-4 P.M. A celebration of life will follow immediately after the ceremony at Calvary Chapel of Canton, located at 3077 Mt. Pleasant Street Northwest, North Canton, 44720. To honor Filiz’s love of everything rainbow, her family encourages you to wear your most bright & colorful clothing to the services!

Description and link below: https://everloved.com/life-of….

Filiz’s entire world was her family, especially her son, Jack. She spent most of her time planning and making memories with Jack that would fill every day with love and laughter. No matter how big or small, Filiz gave Jack endless amounts of thoughtful memories and experiences. Whether it was a park, children's museum, cruise, drive in movie, beach, amusement park, pool, carnival, pumpkin patch or just playing in their back yard, Filiz was her happiest when Jack was happy. Please consider helping the family continue Filiz’s legacy and contagious laughter through Jack. Funds donated through this memorial site will be saved and used towards ensuring Jack’s ability to travel, adventure, learn and explore everything beautiful that the world has to offer. We know Filiz will be watching over Jack smiling and laughing along with him.

Private family burial to follow at a later date at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Services in care of The Billow Funeral Homes and Crematory, 85 N Miller Road, Akron, OH 44333.
