Ffiona Morgan's obituary

Ffiona Morgan, aka Patricia Mitchell, passed away on December 17, 2020 at her home in Eugene, OR.

Ffiona was Born Patricia Ann Orbean in Ceylon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She left rural Saskatchewan for the U.S. as a young woman, and after two marriages made her way to Monterey, California with her children Jeff and Michelle. She earned a BA in Psychology and Women's Studies at UC Santa Cruz in 1974, followed by an MA in Psychology, Social Science and Women's Studies from San Jose State in 1980. During her years in Santa Cruz, Ffiona came out as a lesbian and began studying and sharing Women’s Spirituality, and brought the Daughters of the Moon Tarot deck to life. She went on to publish a unique lesbian cookbook and other titles focused on Goddess Spirituality, while continuing Daughters of the Moon for her lifetime.

Fiona’s spirituality practice became her life’s work, conducting rituals as an ordained Dianic High Priestess, teaching tarot and astrology, writing and consulting, and lecturing worldwide. She lived in Northern California, Sydney, Australia, and Boulder, Colorado before moving to Eugene in 2006, where she continued her creative and spiritual work, as well as her passion for politics. Ffiona was always passionate about making the world better. She was an activist for civil rights, the environment, LGBTQ+ rights, and was actively involved in the delegate process campaigning for Hillary Clinton for the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

Ffiona was passionate about sharing her knowledge and expressed her creativity in ceramics and visual arts, painting, writing, drumming, and singing. Her life was seldom easy but she lived it with determination, conviction, passion, and love. Ffiona is survived by her son Jeff Riddle, daughter Michelle Bailey (Micha) and partner Andrew Bailey, grandson Shay Bailey, and many friends who miss her and wish her spirit a peaceful journey.
