Felton "Barry" Scruggs, 78, of Greenbelt, MD passed away peacefully on December 26, 2022, surrounded by his family and loved ones. 

Barry grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and remained in Harrisburg until he joined the Marine Corps. 

He joined the US Marine Corps on June 24, 1963, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as an E-1 Private Radio Repairman and separated from the US Marine Corps in February 27, 1969.

In January of 1970 he started working for Bendix (NASA) in Madagascar as a Senior Telemetry Technician when he met and married the love of his life, Louisette F. Jousseaume-Scruggs.

After his tenure in Madagascar, he joined Texaco in Ecuador and worked as a field engineer which included working with satellites in the jungle of Ecuador. 

Once his tenure ended in Ecuador, he moved his family to Greenbelt, Maryland where he joined Fedex as a courier but worked his way up to Senior Technician Service Representative and had customers all throughout the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. 

No matter where Barry went he always had a smile and jokes to make everyone feel at ease or laughing.  With his family he had the funny "dad" jokes with a dry sense of humor but always made everyone laugh. 

He will be greatly missed and is loved by everyone he has encountered in his lifetime.

Felton is survived by Louisette-wife, James -brother, Dominique -step-daughter, Will-son-in-law, Steven -son, Leslie -daughter, Dexter -grandson, Natalie -granddaughter, Jabari - grandson-in-law, Aiyanna -granddaughter, Brandon -grandson, Titus -great grandson, and a host of lifetime friends he has made throughout his life. 

Felton Barry  requested a celebration of life be held in his honor as opposed to traditional church services so we ask all of Barry’s loved one to join us in celebrating his beautiful life at Donald V. Borgwardt Funeral Home on January 23, 2023 at 11AM.
