Dear friends and kind supporters,

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the passing of my grandfather, a man who brought warmth, wisdom, and strength to our lives. My mother and I were his primary caregivers, until we made the difficult decision to place him in a long-term care facility in Trinidad, his homeland. Now, we are facing the challenge of honoring him with a proper farewell, surrounded by loved ones back home.

My grandfather was a wise man, being around him was educational and entertaining. For a slice of his very accomplished life, he was nursing the minds of our youth and introducing them to the wonders of literature. He was my teacher, father figure and supporter. Felix also held a great love for music, especially the instrument of our homeland, the Steele Pan. He introduced me to this musical Steele drum and went on to plant yet another seed of curiosity in me. I am extremely grateful for the contributions he made to the person I am today.

We are reaching out to ask for your support to cover the costs associated with his funeral, including burial expenses and travel for my mother and me. Your generosity will help us return to Trinidad to lay him to rest, allowing us the chance to say goodbye and find closure.
