It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Faye Patricia Riley. Born on November 5, 1950, Faye left us on February 1, 2023, after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. She spent her final days surrounded by loved ones at St.John's Hospice in Vancouver. 

A beloved mother, Faye is survived by her daughters, Amy Matthias and Leanne Riley, both of Vancouver and her son Kiel Riley of Kamloops. She is predeceased by her parents Ted and Victoria Riley. She also leaves behind her two brothers Mike Riley, Pat Riley (Annette), her sister Maureen Swanson (Ben),  niece Christy Kirsten (Kevin, Riley and Dylan) and her nephew David Swanson. Faye will also be greatly missed by her "other family" and many friends who lovingly called her "Miss Faye" and her favorite "Other Grama"  

Faye was born in Vancouver BC and grew up in the fraser valley and lower mainland. She spent many years living in Kitimat, and Kamloops before settling down in Hope BC. She spent her last few years in Vancouver BC.

Faye was smart and quick witted and she was the most thoughtful and selfless person to everyone around her. She loved music, singing and dancing.  She was an amazing cook and put alot of love into everything she did for her children. Despite being given very little odds many times, Faye never lost hope and she surprised us over and over again with her strength and determination. She fought her battle with so much grace and never once complained. Whether she was at VGH, BC Cancer Centre or St.John's Hospice, everyone said the she was the toughest and sweetest person with the best sense of humor. She was loved instantly by all that met her. Faye's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and care aides that went above and beyond for us over the past two and a half years. Special Thanks to Dr. Matthew Chan at BC Cancer Centre and her surgeon Dr. Eitan Prisman. Words cant express the appreciation we have for the both of you. 

Faye's extraordinary spirit will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched. She will be immensely missed, but her legacy will remain in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Life will be held on May 13th 2023 at Mission City Best Western Lodge in Mission, BC from 1-4 in the River Room. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
