Faye's obituary

We are very sad to announce the passing of Faye Lorraine Peterson of White Bear Lake. Faye died peacefully in hospice care on February 10, 2025 at the age of 90 after a two-year battle with bladder cancer. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.

A memorial and celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, March 25th at 2:30 P.M. at The Lodge in White Bear Lake, 3666 East County Line North, White Bear Lake, MN 55110.

Faye generously donated her body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program.

Faye was born on September 29th, 1934 and grew up in Brook Park, Minnesota. She loved living in Brook Park growing up with her sisters, Geri and Deanne. She would tell many stories of their childhood adventures growing up in this small community. She attended high school in Pine City and college at Saint Cloud State University. She graduated from college with a teaching degree at the age of 19 and was married that year to James Peterson. She had a son, Gary, in 1955 and a daughter, Andrea, in 1962. She taught grade school in Duluth and Anoka and after retiring continued substitute teaching until she was 80 years old. She lived in Anoka from 1969 until 2010. She was very close to her sisters Deanne and Geri.

She loved to travel and went on many trips to Europe with her travel friends. She had exchange students from many countries stay with her in Anoka through the Lions program. She loved her grandsons, Mathew and Noah, very much as well as her nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She dearly loved visiting with friends and family. She had many friends and she was very good at making new friends, fearlessly talking to anyone she met. She was all in on shopping, especially at thrift stores. She had a knack for finding unique, fun things. She enjoyed entertaining, telling stories and dressing up. She will be sorely missed, but she will be held in memories by her family and many friends.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, James Peterson; daughter Andrea Peterson; parents, John and Alice Clark; sisters Geri and Deanne Stratte; niece Penny Bryn; nephews Richard Stewart and Jason Peterson.

Faye is survived by her son, Gary Peterson and daughter-in-law Iris Wotzka; grandsons Mathew and Noah Peterson; many nieces and nephews uncles and friends.
