Fly in heaven Faron. You will always be a songbird in spirit. Keep playing those sweet six strings. Peace and kindness to you. One of the first people I met in the 1990s at Tom Lee. All those years coming in and having guitar chats. And remembering the guitars I have gotten with your help. You’re a part of me.

My condolences to Faron’s family. I was getting my guitar set up today in Regina at Long and McQuade when I heard of his passing. Faron and his friend Chuck Weafer had a profound impact on my life. It was because of their faith in God that I became a Christian on Sept 12, 1982. I taught alongside Faron at the Academy of music. I was intrigued that this rock n roller could play in church and that is what led me to the Lord. We attended his home group at Faith Community in Regina. He would teach 5-8 students at a time! All were in awe of his playing ability. After all he was named after Faron Young so he was destined to be a musician. You never know how much you will influence people in your life. Faron was a humble man whose faith was quiet. He let his guitar do the talking! Rest in peace my friend.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Faron's passing. We were friends and we song wrote a little together years ago. Such a kind hearted person, always treated myself and my husband so well when we went to L&M.. I am wishing Faron's family my sincerest condolences.

Faron's expertise on the job quickly translated into an after sales friendship between us. He was calm and kind and easy to spend hours with. Our friendship was new, and I always assumed we would have ample opportunities to hang out, maybe work on another song or two. But fate had other plans, and I still can't wrap my head around your leaving Faron. Your Celebration of Life is tomorrow: I will have you in my thoughts. My deepest condolences to your family and those who had the privilege of decades with you dear man. Ultimately, we are all lucky to have had the pleasure 🙏 ❤️

I’m absolutely saddened to hear about Faron, always such a sweet guy… I first met him in Regina when I was on tour with my band Incognito, and he was so genuine. He later moved to Vancouver and while at Tom Lee Music and later Long & McQuade and I would think I’m going to drop into the music store, not because I needed anything…but to drop in and see Faron and catch-up. I’m going to really miss him, and I send Much Love to all Family and Friends as we deal with his devastating loss. I would be at the Memorial Service, but unfortunately it’s my first day back Teaching with a first full day in 3 years, but I send Much Love, and Warmest Condolences. Sincerely, Rob Montgomery 😔🙏❤️🎸🎶🎵

I first met Faron when I was searching for a guitar and losing hope of finding what I wanted. I wandered into Tom Lee’s acoustic guitar dept. and was looking around. Faron introduced himself and we talked about what I needed. Eventually he said, Oh ! This is the one you want. And it was ! Perfect! We became friends after that and talked about songwriting and recording etc. many times over twenty some years. I’m so sad to see him gone. My sincerest condolences to his family. As I’m not living in Vancouver these day I don’t think I’ll be at the Celebration of Life but I will be thinking of him for sure.

I’m so incredibly sad to hear this and for your loss, Jamie and Jackson. I have nothing but fond memories of Uncle Faron. Him playing the guitar at Christmas so we could all sing carols is a favourite. Taking music lessons at his studio another. He was SO talented, yet humble. The world has lost one heck of a human. His gentleness, kindness, giving spirit, and music leave an enduring legacy.
Sending love to you both.

I knew Faron for over 2 decades and he was always a true friend and confidant to me...and it was definitly a two way street. Through good times and rough stretches Faron never failed to empathize with me. We shared so much in common. The love of music was our bond for sure but it was only part of the picture.
There are so very many stories I could share but I'll just share this one here.
My Mom was a musician..a pianist and piano teacher and born in Saskatchewan...she loved Faron for his gentle spirit and musical heart. He was a prairie boy from Regina and there was a kinship between Faron, Mom and I. As my Mom's health became more frail due to stroke related and slowly progressing dementia Faron remained present and supportive in her world..and mine as well His genuine caring and friendship were consistently there for us right up to her passing. It was then that Faron stepped forward to be a a true friend and support as I grieved my Mom's passing from this life. Faron spoke at Mom's memorial so eloquently and straight from his heart. He extended his true condolences to both myself and my younger brother Gerry. He spoke of the strong bond and love for her sons that sustained her through her very difficult last years. Faron's deep and abiding spirituality and faith shon through as he spoke but was not preachy in the least. I will never forget that day and Faron's presence as he spoke. He was a true soul and my heart aches now that he has passed on to the other side. He went with grace and peaceful acceptance. I will miss him greatly and remember him fondly for the rest of my own time here on earth.

There are people you know who you don't see for long stretches, but when you come together it's like you've been hanging out the whole time. Faron is that to me. Drummers and Guitarists are different people. When we both worked at Tom Lee Music, Faron, despite being a guitarist (lol), was part of the gang of drummers who spent time together outside of store hours. He was always game for whatever shenanigans we were up to. We had many good times. We had many deep talks. We talked often about family and music. He was a supportive ear with loads of experience to impart. I believe as long as you keep someone in your thoughts, they stay with you forever. I will always remember you; my dear friend. Can't wait to jam with you one day again! Love, Flav
