Fabian's obituary

Born to parents Leonardo and Beatriz Vangeli, Fabian entered the world on February 2, 1969 and spent much of his life in Pasadena, CA. Fabian’s Italian and Argentinian roots were strong, and he grew up surrounded by family, food and music. He was the firstborn of two sons to his parents. In 1977, Fabian’s brother, Adrian, was born, making their family complete.

From an early age Fabian loved music. This love turned into his passion throughout his life. From DJing his 8th grade dance to producing a record on Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation and everything in between, Fabian spent much of his time in some of the biggest clubs in Los Angeles over the years. Fabian not only loved to create music but also to teach it to the up and coming DJs. He didn’t seek accolades for it, but found satisfaction and fulfillment in living it and doing it. Fabian was a legend in the DJ community and loved by so many.

Adrian describes Fabian as creative, fun-loving, influential, and silly. Fabian loved making others laugh. His brother Adrian recalls hearing Fabian say, “It’s ‘ta-tan’ time,” which means he was going to tickle him to death. This would send Adrian running for his life. Adrian has fond memories of times of laughter, dancing, and trips to Six Flags with his brother. He also describes Fabian as an extreme dog-lover. His dogs Bonnie and Jax were beloved to him.

When Fabian’s DJ career took off around the age of 18, he was busy in the music scene. These years were filled with creativity, connection, and collaboration for Fabian. Although he was away from the family for quite some time, Fabian was doing what he loved. In 2011 when his father passed away, Fabian came back to live with his mother and his brother Adrian in order to help care for her. Adrian recalls that this was a sweet time of being reunited as a family. This time lasted for a few years, until their mother passed in 2018. Not too long after this, Fabian had a series of strokes which resulted in him coming to live with Adrian in 2020. Upon moving in together, the brothers did everything together and found a renewed sense of connection.

In 2022, Fabian and his brother moved to Rancho Cucamonga and found new life in Jesus Christ. They both found a church family and committed their lives to following Jesus, no matter the cost. Fabian was baptized in the Spring of 2023 and the brothers continued to navigate their journey of being a disciple of Christ in the midst of life's new struggles, which included physical limitations for Fabian. Unfortunately, Fabian had another stroke in 2024 and lost much of his physical movement and he struggled with other health issues. On March 17, 2025, Fabian went home to be with His Lord and Savior.

Fabian is survived by his brother Adrian, nephew Giovanni, and many loving relatives. Now, he no longer has any pain nor physical limitations, but is rejoicing and dancing in heaven with his mother, father and all those who have gone before him, “spinning for our Lord.”
