Today marks three years since Mr. Everton Brown passed, and I find myself pausing to remember a man who meant so much to my life. Everton was married to my aunt, but to me he was far more than that—he was a father figure, a protector, and a steady presence. From the time I was just two years old, he helped take care of me alongside my aunt. When I moved from Mandeville to live with them in Negril, he made sure I was safe, loved, and supported. His care, guidance, and quiet strength shaped who I am today. I will always be grateful for the role he played in my life. May his soul continue to rest in peace, and may his love and legacy never be forgotten.

I met Everton and his mother Daisy when I was 19 years old in 1974. I returned to Jamaica 7 more times. I last saw Everton in 2014. As far as I was concerned any time I was there I was with family. God bless you Everton! You will certainly be missed my old friend. In many ways we grew up together. You had a wonderful impact on a lot of lives my friend. RIP

I met Everton when he was 18 around 1971. He introduced me to Daisy, who made us limeade from the lime tree in their front yard. I visited Everton again and stayed in a jungle hammock under the lime tree. I came back again and brought a four man tent to stay in. When I left, I left the tent and Daisy started renting it out to the hippies. When I came back, Daisy had made enough money to build a new house. Now look at how many houses are in Croton Grove. I saw Everton last in 2022 when a sailboat I was delivering to NY broke down and we had to get towed into Mo'bay. I went to visit Everton after 25 years. It was great to see him again, even if it was only for lunch...
R.I.P. Everton,
George DuBose
