Evelyn's obituary
Evelyn Marie Reed (née Taliaferro), 75, of Somerset, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 24, 2024. Born on May 31, 1949, in Somerset, Pennsylvania, Evelyn was a dedicated and spirited individual known for her kindness and easygoing nature.
Evelyn graduated from Shanksville-Stoncreek High School and later from Thiel College, launching a successful career initially with Metropolitan Life Insurance as a Sales Manager, followed by a second career in advertising sales. Her leadership extended to community service, notably as a Committee member and Chairman of the Cambria County War Memorial Basketball Tournament during the 1970s and early 1980s.
Beyond her professional life, Evelyn was a natural athlete who enjoyed playing soccer and softball. She was deeply involved in the lives of her family, particularly in supporting and watching her children and grandchildren engage in sports. Known for her sewing skills, she also spent cherished moments with her grandchildren, whom she adored immensely.
Evelyn leaves behind her loving husband, Ronald Reed, and their three children: Tiffiny (Jorge) Rivera of Chandler, AZ, Scott (Nikki) Reed, and Sabrina (Josh) Carver, both of Somerset, PA. Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren: Aaron, Yasmine, Yajaira, Alyssa, Mike, and Natalie, all of whom she spoiled with love and attention.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Tiffiny Rivera, son Scott Reed, daughter Sabrina Carver, and grandchildren Aaron Rivera, Yasmine Rivera, Yajaira Rivera, Alyssa Reed, Mike Carver, and Natalie Carver.
