She was my favorite teacher. She was so supportive and encouraging. Knowing someone cared about you and believed in you does so much for a person. She was such a lovely beautiful human who touched so many lives.
My condolences to Evelyn's family. I first met Evelyn when she joined our neighborhood prayer group and babysitting co-op. Our two kids and Melanie and Brian went to school together at IHM and Stan coached the girls basketball team. She was a treasure and was always so positive and always available through ups and downs I miss her and being able to pick up the phone for a short conversation. I often see women who remind me of her so I know she is watching over us and I offer her a short prayer. Miss you so much Evelyn 💕
Today would have been my Mom's birthday, a day filled with memories of her love and creativity. She had a special talent for making birthdays magical with her homemade cakes – from ballerinas to teddy bears. And her incredible homemade Halloween costumes! Her creativity knew no bounds, and her love for crafting brought so much joy to our lives. We miss her dearly, especially on days like today. Happy birthday, Mom.
As a first grader, I was always grateful for the extra time she would spend with me. Coming from a big family...it meant more than you'll ever know : ) Love and birthday hugs...sabrina
My heart goes out to Stan and Brian for your loss. I have such good memories of Evelyn. Going with her to the Arboretum; Lioness. I even got to come over to her house in Eden Prairie, and had fun looking at her 'fairy garden'. She was always so good, and nice to me.
I originally got to know Evelyn through the Eden Prairie Lioness where I took this picture of her a few years ago while she was collecting for the local food shelf. I remember serving as an Optimist club speech judge where Evelyn typically had a couple of her students participating. She was a passionate teacher and proud of the efforts they would put out. A great teacher and person.
Evelyn brought out the best in her students, AND their parents! I remember Evelyn teaching our daughter’s class the importance of being aware of their surroundings. She recruited me and another mom to burst into the classroom loudly shouting we were the “Beanie Baby Thieves” while flashing our trench coats stuffed with the coveted stuffed animals. Evelyn called it “The Great Beanie Baby Caper” and had the students write a story about what they remembered after the commotion. Such a creative and fun way to get kids excited about learning! She was a true gem.
Evelyn was an amazing, caring teacher for all four of our daughters. They learned so much from her! Prayers for Stan and her family. Sincerely, Barb and Phil Palkert
My heartfelt sympathy to Stan and family. Evelyn was indeed a treasured friend. We did not share the love of science - but we did share our love of Christ. We were long time friends at our parish, IHM in Minnetonka and through our small group Cursillo weekly meetings. Her friendship brought me closer to Christ and there is no other comparable gift to give a friend. I will continue to pray for comfort for her family.
I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you Stan (and children) Evelyn was a loving person, wife, mother and grandmother. I enjoyed my time with her . A true teacher and lover of art and beauty. May she rest in peace in the arms of Jesus and Mary.
