Evelyn Mora Moya Rosales, 79, of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 8, 1946, in Providence, and was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Evelyn lived a life filled with warmth, compassion, and kindness. Raised in Providence, she spent her formative years in a close-knit community where she developed deep bonds with friends and family. She was a proud and dedicated mother, raising two children with love, discipline, and a spirit of generosity. Her family was the center of her world, and her legacy of care and devotion lives on through them.
In her career, Evelyn worked as an administrative assistant in various local businesses, earning respect for her hard work and integrity. Though her professional achievements were impressive, it was her ability to connect with people that truly set her apart. Her friends and colleagues remember her as a thoughtful listener, a steady source of support, and someone with an infectious laugh that could light up any room.
Evelyn's passions were many. She had a love for gardening, music, and cooking. Her home was always a place of comfort and warmth, with the smell of fresh flowers and delicious meals filling the air. She had an eye for beauty, whether it was in the intricate details of a garden she cultivated or the care with which she made a meal for those she loved.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, José Rosales, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. Evelyn is survived by her children, Rosa (and husband, David) and Carlos, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Mateo and Sofia. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members and close friends who will remember her for her selflessness and unwavering love.
A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Church in Providence, Rhode Island, on June 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her life. A private burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to *The Alzheimer's Association* in memory of Evelyn's mother, who was a dedicated supporter of the cause.
Evelyn’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed. Her love, strength, and compassion remain a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
