Evelyn B. Garwood (Jean), 91 of Parkersburg, WV passed away September 11, 2019 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home under the care of Amedisys Hospice of Parkersburg, WV.
Born July 7, 1928 in Elizabeth, WV, Jean was the former owner of Tropical Tans in Parkersburg for several years. She was the former Secretary for the American Federation of Musicians Local 259. She established the Nashville-Wheeling Talent Agency and was a booking agent for live bands and performances. She was an active musician with her own band The Chevrons for several years playing throughout WV and OH prior to retirement. After retirement, Jean also enjoyed Karaoke at various locations throughout Parkersburg. She had previously been a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Jean loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to music events, concerts, and had a wonderful time interacting with fellow musicians while meeting new friends and faces. She was a wonderful cook and always had a pot of coffee on for a visit. Jean also enjoyed bowling and had a green thumb for her rose garden. Jean always enjoyed a good bingo game.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly and son in-law Terry in Florida. She was preceded in death by her mother Neoma Ruth Jenkins (nee Nutter) and father William Howard Jenkins of Elizabeth, WV.
