Evelyn Faye's obituary
Evelyn Faye Goins Goyack, known as Faye to her family and friends, 76, of Gainesville, VA, returned Home to her Heavenly Family on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023. She was born on February 16, 1947 in Florence, Alabama to William Lester Goins and Mattie Evelena Minor. She lived her early years in Alabama before moving with her family to California for a year and then on to the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She and her husband of 55 years, Ronald Steven Goyack, raised their family in Villa Park, Illinois, and then they moved to Florida for several years. Faye moved in her final years to Gainesville, VA to be close to one of her daughters, Carrie.
While Faye worked in several capacities, including being a teacher’s aide for special children, she felt that her most important work was that within her home. She was a loving and faithful wife and mother, dedicated to helping her beloved family members. Her unfailing love, freely-given forgiveness, and strength to endure her many health challenges has been an inspiration to her daughters and to all who were blessed to spend time with her. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed to her husband and children in the Washington, D.C. Temple. She loved the fellowship of her wonderful Church members, especially in her final years when they served her with such compassion.
Faye had a special light about her that continues to influence her daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren; however, she is now reunited, after many decades of waiting, with her two sons, Christopher Marc, who she raised for almost eight years, and Scott William, who was born sleeping, as well as with her husband Ronald.
Faye is survived by her daughters Deborah Lynn (Russell) Ryan of Yakima, Washington, and Carrie Anne (Jonathan) Renuart of Warrenton, Virginia; her grandchildren Lester John (Amber) Ryan, Turley McCain (Vianey) Ryan, Elijah Christopher Ryan, Malachi Steven Ryan, Russell Keith Ryan Jr., Tanager Loraye Ryan, Hannah Louise Ryan, and Madison Evelena Renuart; and her five great-grandchildren Ava Grace Ryan, David Ray Ryan, Blake Alexander Ryan, Kit Michael Ryan, and Saige Holland Ryan.
We give our deepest gratitude to all those who tirelessly served our mom. She will be laid to rest with her sons at Chapel Hills Garden West, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
