Faye's obituary

Evelyn Faye Conner

Born on a warm summer day, July 1, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, Evelyn Faye Conner graced the world with a spirit as radiant as the California sun. On December 24, 2024, our beloved Christmas Even Angel was gently called home to her Lord and Savior. She was the cherished daughter of Lavern B. and Evelyn B. Plumer, a child of grace and unwavering faith.

Known fondly as Faye, Evelyn's life was a masterpiece of love, devotion, and selfless compassion. Her presence was a beacon of light, illuminating the lives of all fortunate enough to know her. With a heart full of faith and an unyielding devotion to Jesus, Evelyn's journey was a testament to the power of love and resilience. Her departure leaves an irreplaceable void, but her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched.

Evelyn's greatest treasure was her family, the cornerstone of her joy and purpose. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to nurturing, guiding, and instilling in them a love for the Lord. Her kindness was boundless, her generosity unmeasured, and her warmth made strangers feel like lifelong friends. Evelyn never met a soul she didn't embrace, and her unwavering care reflected the depth of her beautiful spirit.

She is survived by her adoring husband of 66 years, John F. Conner, Sr., whose love story with Evelyn was a testament to an unapologetic walk with Christ, an enduring partnership and a steadfast devotion. Evelyn also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Ann Baker and Betty Wiswell. As a mother, she was a guiding light to her children: John F. Conner, Jr., C.M. “Dutch” Conner II, and Jennifer S. Paolini. Her radiant faith shone brightly for her grandchildren—Johnny and Meaghan Kostolnik, Noah and Alyssa Conner, Dominic Paolini, and Jazzmyne Paolini—and her great-grandchildren, Nash Kostolnik, Remington Kostolnik, Amorie Leota-Retana, Damian Hernandez Leota, Evelyn Winter Conner, her namesake.

Evelyn’s love for flowers and the renewal of spring was a reflection of her own soul—ever blooming, ever giving. To celebrate her extraordinary life, a Celebration of Life Service will be held on January 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Kingan Garden (325 W. Franklin, Tucson, AZ, USA). The service will also be broadcast live on YouTube. Evelyn loved people and big parties! In her honor, a dinner and reception will follow, offering a time to gather and honor the memory of this remarkable woman.

Though Evelyn's physical presence is no longer among us, her spirit endures—lifting, inspiring, and guiding us. Her faith and love will forever echo in the hearts of her family and friends. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she leaves an eternal inheritance: a legacy richer than gold, rooted in faith and love.

“You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Now there is in store for you the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to you on that day—and not only to you, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7)

Evelyn will be laid to rest with at the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at Marana in honor of John F Conner, Sr who valiantly served our country.

Mamaw, your love has been our guide and your faith our compass. May we continue to walk in your footsteps, sharing the light you so freely gave. Your life was a blessing; your memory, a treasure. Your love and legacy will live on as we keep you close through the days that remain.
