I was sorry to recently hear of Eve's passing and condolences to the family. I remember Eve at KVUE from the 1980's when it was still Evening News Assoc ownership and we were there auditing. After all those years I never forgot Eve and how gracious she was to all she met and how well she treated us.
I am so sorry for your loss. Eve was such a special lady and so fun to be around. I will never forget the Halloween party that I was privileged
to attend. She will be missed by everyone.

The world lost a special soul when Eve passed on. I only had the fortune of meeting Eve a few times but she left a memorable impression on me. I loved hearing stories from her and Joe's younger days, and during her time in news; it was clear that she led a life well lived. She was a joy to talk to and any friend of Joe's was a friend of hers.
Missing our lovely, kind, thoughtful Ms. Eve and forever thankful for the long friendship we shared. We treasure many memories filled with laughter and good humor - great storytelling, entertaining collection of animals, and wonderfully decorated parties brimming with happy kids and adults......the list goes on..... Eve made everyone feel welcome and special in the Vickers home. She led by example and taught us all the value of community as she brought people together. We are eternally grateful for having known her.
I was heart-broken to learn of Eve's passing. Eve is on my Mount Rushmore of People. She taught me so much about financial management and about people in general. She was always patient with me and willing to give all she had to help me succeed. Her positive attitude was inspiring. We worked together for almost 20 years. In that time I never saw her give less than 100%. Eve was truly "one of kind." Like so many others I consider myself VERY fortunate to have known Eve Vickers.
I'll always treasure the wonderful memories I have of Eve. She was warm, caring, and strong--the kind of person the world needs more of. When I was little, my parents and I would take a trip to Texas to see family every couple of years. I have the fondest memories of these trips. What kind of animal would I discover at her house? What new and exciting place would she take us? As I've gotten older, I've realized how much those trips affected my outlook on life. We once drove 2 hours to get tamales. But they were THE tamales. I might have been a picky eater who didn't get it then, but I get it now. There's a great big, wonderful world out there, and Eve was always dying to show it to you. I treasure that about her. Many of Eve's qualities will be missed: the way she took people (and animals) as she found them, her generosity, and her delightful laugh. I could go on, but if you've met Eve then I really don't need to. For my family, Eve will always be in our hearts, and thinking of her will always make us smile. Adios.
I was so sad to hear about Eve's passing. The laughter and stories that were shared each time I found myself with the Vickers family members were, and still are, treasured memories. Eve will be missed around future campfires. Best wishes to all the Vickers family as they work to move forward from this sad loss.
Eve was the first person I met when we moved onto Crossroads Drive. It quickly became apparent that Eve was an amazing support to the neighborhood, and she loved of all of our children, as well as our animals. We received so much joy from Eve over the years, and I’m not sure how to look over at their lovely home without seeing her working outside with Chico by her side. We love you, Joe, and we are here.
Eve never tired of helping. Never tired of teaching. And the GM’s never worried about the auditors when Eve did the books. Gannet even sent her to stations to “clean up their accounting messes”. She was a loving soul. RIP
My big sister was the best. There are not words to describe my sorrow. She was not just my sister, but my advisor, confidante, and friend. I have so many memories of the fun she created for me as a child. My favorite memory is when I was 11 and went to spend a month with her and Joe in their little log cabin in Colorado and rode their horse, Blue, every day. She was the “Commander-in-Chief” of our family. She always took care of us all. She was gifted with animals. She had a silent understanding with them that was positively ethereal. I will miss her beyond measure. Robin Albin
Eve was the best. A great co worker, mentor and most of all friend. She always put others first and she showed her loving and giving spirit daily. I will miss our long talks and the numerous pics she would send of her animals including crazy looking chickens, a lizard in a miniature sombrero celebrating Cinco de Mayo, along with of course the birds and Chico. She opened her house, arms and hearts to all. Some of my most precious memories are visits with Eve and Joe, meeting friends and learning about Texas(including chimpanzees that don’t stay in their cages and that they love using red rental cars as a trampoline). We all spent hours cleaning and trying to get all the dents out of that car!! I miss her dearly. Prayers and loving thoughts go out to Joe, Sean, and all the family. Eve. We miss you so much....❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My entire family will miss Eve so much, she played a huge role in not only Tim and my life but our children and grandchildren. Eve instilled music into my oldest grandson at a very early age and now his love for music has expanded beyond anything I ever imagined. Eve always had great parties for the children, Easter, Halloween and never forgot anyone at Christmas. Eve and Joe have been like 2nd parents to Tim and I and we are truly grateful to have had Eve in our lives for so many years. Rest in peace our sweet "Eve" until the morning comes.
I'm sorry for the loss of Eve Vickers and her family and friends are in my prayers. We have been blessed with Eve in our lives. Eve was simply wonderful in all aspects. Eve is known as the nicest woman in a work environment, who was always positive, smiling, happy to contribute, always took care of others and had all our backs. She was the ultimate mentor and teacher. Another memory is she always put others first before herself. And her love for life, her family, her work and those animals. Her pet stories were always the best, specifically "Speedy" tortoise and the parrot. The Gannett/TEGNA family loves Eve Vickers and her family, and we miss her dearly.
Eve was a fantastic person. so kind hearted and giving. More than once she was our reference for doctoring injured animals, baby squirrels, oil soaked birds. She was just as giving with her friends. I'm happy to have known her and Joe. I'll remember Eve with each sip of wine I take; she was truly a wonderful woman
I only worked with Eve for a couple years. In that short time, I knew her as a kind, intelligent, lovely human being. She was a supportive of Carole and all she was going through. She was always helpful and had a smile on her face. God bless and rest in peace dear Eve.
Eve Vickers was brilliant and beloved by all of us lucky enough to have called her a colleague or boss. She was a mother figure and mentor at KVUE and in the corporate world. Eve was incredibly gifted at her job, but for us, her real gift was being a great listener and loving advisor. You couldn't leave Eve's office after a heart to heart talk without a smile on your face. She was wise and wonderful in so many ways. I'm so grateful she was part of my life and she certainly left this world a more loving, tolerant, kind place.
Best boss I ever had. She was a great lovely lady, classy, kind and I loved her laugh. She supported me through my own health difficulties and gave me hope. My heart aches but I am blessed to have known her and blessed to have had her as a boss at KVUE.
