Eva's obituary

Eva Marlene Broseker, 76, of Greensboro, MD, formerly of Baltimore, MD went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Eva was born and resided in Baltimore, MD until she moved to the Eastern Shore in 1988. She worked as a hair stylist for most of her life, before working for Dr. Vanantwerp in Severna Park, MD, Holsinger & Higgins in Denton, MD and retiring from Caroline Nursing Home at the age of 62. Although she retired from working, she never really stopped working for the Lord.

Throughout her life she ministered in many different capacities. Eva was a Bible teacher and minister to many, from toddlers to the elderly at Faith Tabernacle, Lifeway Church of God and Fish Locker Ministries. She was even the Chaplin at Caroline Nursing Home, where she led Bible studies and individually ministered to residents with no family of their own.

Eva was a prayer warrior. She was always there for you when you needed her the most. Eva loved to praise the Lord and study the Word. If you were with her for any amount of time, you would catch her singing a hymn or worship song. She was truly the hands and feet of Jesus in countless ways. She will be remembered as a loving, kind and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Although her friends and family will miss her here on earth, we rejoice that she is at home in heaven, worshiping at the feet of Jesus.

Eva is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Charles Broseker; her beloved daughters Elizabeth “Lisa” (Tim) Betterly, Amy (Chris) Kerins and foster daughter Peggy (Carl) Secrist; her devoted siblings; Gloria Clark, Joseph (Janis) Mills Sr., Rose Bennett; her loving grandchildren Julia Young, Christian (Kayla) Bergstrazer, Casey (Jesse) Kerins McCue-Gomes, Carrie Kerins, Marissa Kerins, Bethany (Freddy) Neccari, Emily Kilmon, Jacob Kilmon and great grandchildren Melody, Darla, Ember, Rylee and Lillian. She is preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Mills, brother James Mills Jr., sister Thelma Stickell, mother Thelma Mills and father James Mills Sr.

A Celebration of Life service for Eva will be held at Lifeway Church of God at 7046 Seashore Highway, Bridgeville, Delaware on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 2pm. Fellowship and refreshments will be available afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be setting up a non-profit honoring Eva’s legacy called Eva’s Heart Ministries, continuing the work and ministry Eva did her entire life. Please send all donations to 134 Windward Dr. Felton, DE 19943.
