Eusebio's obituary
Eusebio "Eslen" Gutierrez, got his wings on August 17, 2023. Born on December 15, 1941, he was a beacon of light to those who were lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his brothers, Jose, Luis (Maravilla) and Hil, his sisters-in-laws Nelida and Julia, his children Nancy, Julio, Becky and their spouses, nephews and niece, Tony, Nellie, Luis and Julio, grandson Dylan and great granddaughter Faith who will always remember him with immense love and admiration.
Known for his jovial personality, Eusebio was not just a typical man of humor, but also a person of outstanding character who valued hard work. He firmly believed that nothing worthwhile comes easy, and often shared this wisdom with others. Never meeting a stranger, he always set an extra plate on his dining table, ready to share a meal with anyone who happened to drop by and might be hungry. He loved having his friends and family dropping by for a visit and he always welcomed them in his home.
Eusebio worked very hard and his favorite vacation spot was Miami, where he cherished the opportunity to visit family and friends. He would often take his children crabbing at the Tampa Causeway using a simple fishing line and chicken necks – a testament to his love for simple, yet fulfilling experiences. Eusebio was particularly known for spending his free time at the horse races, a hobby that he indulged in with great passion.
His love for sports didn't stop at the race, he loved watching baseball and boxing. His passion for life, coupled with his welcoming nature and sense of humor, will be remembered by all who knew him.
Eusebio's journey on this earth has come to an end, but his spirit lives on. His lessons of hard work, generosity and openness will continue to inspire those he leaves behind, and his legacy will be cherished by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched and lovingly called him Papi.
