Fanny's obituary

Our wonderful Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Friend, Eula Francine (Latiolais) Morgan, better known as "Fanny" left us to join our Lord God Almighty, on February 7, 2025.

Born in Church Point, La. on October 7, 1943, Fanny and her family moved to Texas before her first birthday. She lived in Port Arthur, TX until 1949, when her family built their forever home in Groves, TX. Fanny attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School through the Eighth Grade and was a Cheerleader in seventh and eighth grades, which she loved. Then, she moved on to Groves Jr. High and PN-G High school, graduating class of 1962.

A very hard working mother, she worked for many years as a Secretary at Lamar Institute of Technology, and after retiring continued to work part time for a local church in Fannet. She was always willing to help, any way she could.

Fanny always had a story or a personal anecdote to share. She did just that with everyone she could, as she went on to write many vivid, biographical editorials for the Port Arthur News, depicting special times in her life over the years. She had so many stories to share and loved to put smiles on people’s faces.

One story that had not been shared, staying true to her search for adventure; on her first day at PN-G High school, Fanny boarded the wrong bus and ended up at Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur instead of PN-G High School. Such a frightening ordeal for her and her parents. Fanny was reported missing at PN-G, and the staff at Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur did not know what to do with her. In true “Fanny fashion”, even without looking for it, adventure seemed to always find her!

She was a kind-hearted, fun-loving, happy person, who never met a stranger. If she did, she made sure to break the ice and leave as if they had known her for years. This gift came into use naturally, as Fanny loved dancing, partying, and traveling........a true social butterfly. But, most of all, she loved her beautiful, big family!

Raised in the middle of 4 siblings, all of which live on with nothing but loving memories of their sweet spirited sister. Fanny had one big brother and sister (Bruce and Maureen) as well as two little sisters (Eva and Jenny), so naturally she was always surrounded by family.

Fanny’s legacy also includes her three children: Charles Stroud and his wife Mindy Chatagnier of Katy, TX, Jody and her husband Anselmo Garza of Beaumont, TX and Jennifer Allen and her husband Christopher Allen of Hickory Creek, TX. She will live on in fond memory of all her 11 grandchildren and her 12 precious great-grandchildren (and counting). The light she shared every time she entered a room is something friends and family will remember her by, until we meet again.

A funeral Mass will be held in honor of Eula, at 11 AM on March 15, at the Immaculate Conception – St Peter the Apostle Parish, 6250 Washington Blvd, Groves, TX 77619.
