Eugenia's obituary
In Loving Memory of Eugenia Galindo
November 25, 1940 – January 12, 2026
Eugenia Galindo was born in 1940 in Neiva, Huila, Colombia, and passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. She lived a life defined by resilience, love and a generous heart.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Daniel, and twins Gerardo and Raul; her former husband and the father of her children, Eduardo; and her beloved granddaughter, Jessica.
Eugenia is survived by her son, Andrew; daughters Andi and Patricia and their spouses; granddaughters Regina, Danielle, and Lauren; great-granddaughters Layla, Abby, Rosie, Ellie and Sophia; great-grandsons Gavin and Gabriel; and her cherished dogs, Mia and Max.
Eugenia immigrated to the United States with her husband and young children, eventually settling in Southern California. Throughout her life, she worked hard and wore many hats—owning a restaurant, a bakery, and a ranch, and later working as a forklift driver at an orange juice factory in Florida. No matter the job, she approached her work with determination and pride.
She was an incredible cook, famous among family and friends for making the very best sopa de albóndigas, arroz con pollo, and pasteles—meals that brought everyone together and made a house feel like home.
Though not religious in a traditional sense, Eugenia was a woman of faith who prayed regularly to the Virgin Mary. After the passing of Eduardo in 2003, she returned to Southern California to be closer to her children and family.
She loved puzzles and could often be found playing online solitaire or working through puzzles with her dogs curled up at her feet. She had a warm, generous heart and a quiet strength, and she was beautiful both inside and out.
The world feels a little dimmer without Eugenia Galindo in it, but her light lives on in the love she gave, the family she nurtured, and the memories held by all who were blessed to know her.
