Eugene Willis 83, of St. Gabriel, LA transitioned this earthly life to eternal glory surrounded by his loving family on December 21, 2025.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Abounding Love Ministries 7076 Hooper Road Baton Rouge, LA 70811.
Burial will be in St. Gabriel, LA at New Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery 4525 Point Clair Road St. Gabriel, LA 70776.
Repast will be held at the St. Gabriel Community Center 1400 Gordon Simon Leblanc Dr. St Gabriel, LA 70776.
Family Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Hall Davis & Sons Funeral Home 9348 Scenic Highway Baton Rouge, LA 70807 with public viewing and visitation to begin from 3:00PM-5:00 p.m. 9348 Scenic Highway Baton Rouge, LA 70807.
Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services Tuesday, December 30, 2025, 9:00am-10:00am at the church, Abounding Love Ministries 7076 Hooper Road Baton Rouge, LA 70811 on Tuesday.

Eugene Willis never met a stranger and would light up a room just by entering. His humorous charm and wisdom was contagiously loved by all who encountered him.
Eugene Willis was born April 28, 1942 in New Orleans, LA, to Sullivan Willis and Carrie Barnes Willis. He was baptized at an early age and attended elementary, middle and high schools in Tallulah, LA. He grew up in a rural town of Tallulah, LA, Eugene was a true Tallulah, Lake Providence country boy.

Eugene was the protector of his siblings. He loved and had a special bond with each of them.

Eugene was baptized at an early age and was active in his church’s men and helps’ ministries , Abounding Love Ministries, Baton Rouge.
“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4
After graduating from high school, he attended trade school, and obtained further post-secondary education, training, certifications in diesel mechanic and truck driving. Eugene served as a truck driver, union member until his retirement after fifty years. He also served as owner and operator of his own dump truck trucking company, E&W Trucking Company, for over thirty years. Driving trucks was Eugene’s passion for over 50 plus years, putting on over one million miles on the road. He loved driving across the country, driving locally, enjoying the scenery, meeting, helping people and always looking for new adventures. Eugene simply "lived life on the top shelf. "

Rosalie Thomas Willis and Eugene were inseparable and enjoyed going to church together, reading the Bible, praying together, ministering to married couples, those preparing for marriage, taking long drives, watching their favorite gospel, western channels, cooking, entertaining together, talking under the patio, discussing the children, grandchildren’s activities, and making memories. On their 29th wedding anniversary, this year, his lasting and forever words of love to her were “We are still together and we are gonna stay together, baby.”
Eugene was man of few words; a man with a heart of gold. He worked hard his entire life to provide for, care for and serve as an example for his family.
He was a loyal friend; who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He would give anybody the shirt off his back, the last five dollars in his wallet, and not expect any favors, anything in return.
Above all, he loved God with his whole heart, dreamed big, saw greater, loved his wife, daughters, son, granddaughters, extended family fiercely and supported them unfailingly.
Eugene was a life long resident of St. Gabriel, LA. and was active in his community, neighborhood.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather, neighbor, friend and man of deep faith. He was a member of Abounding Love Ministries, serving faithfully in the men’s, helps ministries.
“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” 1 Corinthians 15:53
At 7 PM, on December 21, 2025, surrounded by his wife, daughters, granddaughters, extended family, friends, Eugene, received his eternal healing from the Great Physician. He was welcomed into his eternal life of glory by his parents Sullivan and Carrie, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal, maternal grandparents, parents Sullivan Wicker, Carrie Barnes Wicker, brothers, sisters; a host of extended family and dear friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Rosalie Willis. Also left to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Janice Andrews, Michelle Willis Wicker and husband; Eugene Cunningham and wife, granddaughters, Jacey Vinson and husband, Gabrielle Wicker, mother in law Ora Lee Thomas, brothers in law, sisters-in-law, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Public Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, 3:00 p.m. -5:00 pm.
Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Services will be held at Abounding Love Ministries 7076 Hooper Road Baton Rouge, LA 70811, Apostle Albert White, Pastor Adriane White, Officiants.
Final resting place will be New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 4525 Point Clair Road St. Gabriel, LA 70776.
A Repast will be held at St. Gabriel Community Center 1400 Gordon Simon Leblanc Dr, St Gabriel, LA 70776.
