Eugene Douglas Elder passed away March 17, 2024 at his home in Olathe, Kansas. He was born in St. Joseph, MO to Eugene and Mary Elder on May 31, 1962.

Doug graduated from Lee’s Summit High School, and worked for Kansas University for more than 20 years. His true passions were anything outside including fishing, gardening, swimming, and making small ponds. Doug loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching KU and Chiefs games. He was also an animal lover.

Doug's survivors include his beautiful daughters Amanda Elder, Olathe, KS; Krystal Booher (Brandon) and Mary Elder, both of Lee's Summit, MO. He is survived by his mother, Mary Wood of Raytown, MO., 9 grandchildren, his brother Cory Elder of Warsaw, MO.,  and sister, Robin Elder, of Raytown, MO. Doug had many extended family members he was close to, including cousins, aunts and uncles. 

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Elder, uncle James Elder, aunt Deborah  Brown and grandson Styrling Booher.
