Uncle Gene was always fun and generous. I remember not too long after our wedding, Jeremy and I went to stay with Uncle Gene and Aunt Reg in their beautiful, newly built Bullhead house. They were loving retirement. They told us all about their recent trips to Vegas and the shows they had seen. Gene took us out on the river on his Sea Doos that he said he bought for his grandkids who they both just adored. We went to Regina's favorite casino one night. There was always a lot of laughing. Whenever we saw them Uncle Gene had a gift for my kids. I know that Gene is home with his beloved Regina now.

Yes, Darryl, your dad always had that movie camera. But don’t turn it on him. I remember him covering his head with his jacket and I was over there trying to pull it off so he would be on camera. I will always remember his laugh, too. My memories were from oh so many years ago. All of us in our 20s. I was married to his brother Danny. We were all going to the beach. On our way there we saw Busch Gardens. We decided to go there, maybe intending to go to the beach after. But after going through and sampling all their beers we ended up going back to our place. And we had a water fight with the hose. More memories were of Friday nights at our house, playing Tripoley. We played for pennies. Nobody lost much, or even won much, but oh we had fun. Another thing I remember about Gene was the unique and special toys he would find for my little girls. The one was a top, but not just a regular one, this one would spin and a skirt would flare out. It was a one of a kind. One more thing, the morning of the 15th there was a tiny blue dragonfly on the bush outside my back door. I stayed out there until it flew away. Tried to get a picture but the sun was too bright. It was just a while later I got the call that Gene had passed. I want to believe that was Gene saying goodbye and that he was at peace.

When I think of Uncle Gene, I think of a kind-spirited, warm, happy, giving soul. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Genes passing
He was a lovely cousin
I miss hearing from him and Regina
They are together now and with all the aunts and uncles
My mom Sophia Taskes always kept in touch with them
Always keep their memories alive
God Bless

Gene was the our neighbor in Parks and we shared many happy times with him and Regina, sharing meals, playing games, going out to eat, commiserating over the weather and snow, having a drink out on their front porch in the afternoons. We loved his sense of humor, generosity and persistence to get through the hard times. Interesting last days: We were in his favorite restaurant El Tapatio 9/16 and were toasting him and Regina, saying we should call him. It was too noisy so we thought we'd call him when we got home. That was when we got the text that he had passed away 9/14. Then today 9/20 what do we get in the mail but a card from Gene Brice! He must have written it in the days before his collapse. We will treasure it always. Adios, dearest friend!

Naturally, I have many memories of my big brother whom I chose as best man in my wedding that has lasted 50 years, so far.
I have chosen, as my absolute top memory a letter that Gene wrote to me as I was finishing my last year of military service overseas. A little more than half-way through my tour I received his letter that told me about the birth of their third child. He explained that Reg had tried to hold on for one more day before giving birth (I can't imagine a mother trying to delay childbirth, but it sounded good.).
If she could have held out one more day she would have given birth to their son on my birthday. Fortunately, for me, Reg still wanted to give their boy "my name" because she was so darn close.
As a single man, hearing about the birth of what turned out to be the last of my ten nieces and nephews and they would give him my name! I was euphoric. It was the greatest honor I had up to the age of twenty-two and I was so proud. I made sure all the guys heard my (and, of course, Gene & Reg's) great news, a healthy baby boy born AND named after me!
Of course I picked my big brother to be my Best Man a couple of years later! I have that letter here, somewhere.

Dad was a very hardworking guy who loved his kids and our mom deeply. He worked long hours and being a movie buff, especially sci-fi movies, he really appreciated working in the film industry. We stood in line several times to see Star Wars when it first released and saw 2001: A Space odyssey at the Cineplex in Hollywood. He loved music and took mom, Darryl and I to see Elvis in Las Vegas and later other shows like The Beach Boys. He made friends easily and was extremely generous. He loved to help people and cherished his close neighbors in Parks. He made many mistakes in life but felt the burden of them seeking God’s forgiveness in the last months of his life. I am confident he holds mom’s hand in heaven and is at peace with the love of his life.

Brice Family,
From Donut Sundays dinners at your parents’ house so many of my childhood memories include your dad, mom, and all of you. He took me to see E.T. and Coming to America (I wasn’t allowed to tell my mom and dad about the latter 🫣) and on motorcycle rides around the O.L.L. parking lot. He shared his love of Elvis and protected me from being teased by Terry. And his laugh was and always will be one of the best I’ve ever heard.
May his memory be a blessing.
