Ethel Brown-Rattigan-Garner, 58, of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away on April 18, 2024 after a battle with cancer. The family requests that all
Ethel Brown-Rattigan, born Ethel Brown on September 9, 1965, in Long Branch, NJ, United States, passed away on April 18, 2024, in Decatur, Georgia, at the age of 65. She was a beloved mother survived by her daughters LaTanya Park, Rhonda Underwood, Michelle Brown, her grandchildren Iris Park, Queenie, Ethel, DeShawn, Breaunna / Skylar , Bleu, Anastasia , Precious, and the children of Rhonda Underwood.
Ethel was a beautiful woman, both physically and mentally. She was described as caring , giving, a survivor, and a teacher of survival through difficulties. Her selfless nature, love, and fighting spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Ethel's quick wit, humor, hard work, and exceptional organizational skills made her a cherished friend, family member, and associate. She was known for her adventurous and spontaneous spirit, bringing joy to those around her.
In her career, Ethel worked in transportation for the Atlanta School District, recently retiring as a Supervisor at the State Road & Tollway Authority after 22 years of service. Prior to that, she dedicated six years as a Patient Care Technician at West Paces Ferry Hospital and one year as a Customer Service Representative at National Car Rental.
Outside of work, Ethel enjoyed spiritual visits with a spiritualist and running as her hobbies. She valued celebrating life and requested no formal services at this time. Contributions in her memory can be made to support abused children and adults.
Ethel Brown-Rattigan will be deeply missed by her loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
There will be no service as cremation was requested by Ethel herself. Thank you all.
