Ethan was a funny, kind, and charismatic guy. I went to middle school with him and had the pleasure of fencing with him throughout high school and at the Thames Valley Club. He was a hardworking, smart, athletic guy, and he is missed every day. Thinking of him today, and holding him in my memory forever.

ETHAN RHODIG MEMORIAL FUND - SEPTEMBER 2020 UPDATE

Thank you all for your generous donations. The following philanthropic activities are underway to honor Ethan's legacy.

1. East Lyme Rowing Association - fund purchase of two Pair boats and one 4 boat
2. East Lyme Fencing - funding purchase of fencing equipment
3. East Lyme High School Scholarship Association- establish Ethan Rhodig Memorial Scholarship for student/athlete competing in Crew and/or Fencing
4. Sponsor 2021 Omaha Triathlon in Ethan's honor
5. Creighton University donation in Ethan's honor
6. Plant trees in Ethan's honor

Additional philanthropic activities are envisioned. Further updates will be provided. Thank you again for your support!

Good morning,
I am Eaven Rivera, former Foil Captain of the LOLHS Fencing team(2018-2019). I send my condolences to the family members of Ethan Rhodig. Though personally I never knew him, however he and I shared some excellent bouts that taught me more about the sport and how to improve myself. After enlisting into the military I thought I would put fencing behind me but now I wish to continue practice of the sport in honor of his name. It is a big shock to see a young talented soul be taken away from life so quickly.

June 22, 2020 Update:
Ethan's Friends and Family- we are completely overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, support and memories you have shared of Ethan. Thank you does not come close to expressing what is in our hearts.

Please know that every picture, story, sentiment is so helpful to us in trying to process this immeasurable loss.

We are also astounded by the generous donations to his memorial fund.

Dear Rhodig family: I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I was never extremely close with Ethan, but he was a friend and a lifting buddy in the gym. Ethan was always there for me when I had questions or needed guidance in the gym and in school. His kindness, strength, and high spirits was and is so inspiring. Once again, I’m so sorry. My family and I will keep you, and Ethan, in our prayers and thoughts.
