So very sorry Megan, Shawn and I send our condolences

My condolences to Megan and Ethan's family. We crossed a paths only a few times over the years while doing GIS as part of our NOAA careers. Ethan was always level-headed, sharp, knowledgeable, kind, and gentle. I’ll miss his wit, his infectious smile, and his periodic SoCal-based commentary shared via FB updates.

I first met Ethan as we both cheered on friends (and my daughter Kathleen) at an Ironman in Vancouver. We became buddies as we went to different cheering sites throughout the day.
1.5 years ago Megan and Kathleen came to Dallas to run a marathon. When Megen called Ethan to tell him about all the things she was doing, he replied ‘Do I need to come there and provide adult supervision?’
That was Ethan. Seriously witty and very caring.

I was honored to know Megan and Ethan and attend their beautiful wedding by the water at Lowndes Hill in Charleston, SC. While Megan was at the College of Charleston and engaged to Ethan, she helped me trap, neuter and release the college cat strays and helped feed them at designated campus stations. We became fast friends and when I was introduced to Ethan I knew they were a perfect match, two truly kind, loving, very special people. My heart aches for you Megan, and Ethan’s family, and your friends. My love and prayers are with you. Love, Gail

Megan,
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve been reflecting on the times we all shared in North Carolina, and what stands out most to me is Ethan’s love for photography. I remember how he once described himself as an “amateur,” but the truth is, his eye for beauty—especially in nature—was something special. His photos captured moments with such grace that it could’ve easily been a second profession.
There were good times at Wolf Laurel, Weaver-Vegas (Weaverville), and beyond. I’ll always carry warm memories of those moments and of Ethan’s quiet passion for life’s details, and for you.
You’re in my heart and thoughts during this difficult time.
With love and sympathy,
Cheryl & Wayne
