Esther Webb, 85, of Jackson, MI, passed away on August 16, 2022 after .

Esther was born on February 24, 1937 to Alonzo and Queen Esther Walker in Dolemite, Alabama. 

After graduating from Westfield High , she moved to Detroit, Michigan and worked for the Detroit Public School System until her retirement.  Esther married  Johnnie B. Webb prior to leaving Alabama.  Although Esther and Johnnie divorced, she raised three children, Sharon Webb (predeceased), James (Laurie) Webb, and Brian Webb (predeceased), and four step children children, Johnnie B, Webb Jr., Gertrude White, Annette Hatcher, and Ronnie Webb. 

Esther moved to Jackson Michigan in 2021 to be near her son James. She was a civic and neighborhood leader, dedicated to making her community her extended family. Esther excelled at supporting and encourage family member and friends, through the many passions and difficulties of their lives.  She made it her mission to improve the lives of others. We will miss her greatly.

 Esther  is survived by her son James Webb, Daughter in Law Laurie Webb, one brother, Charles (Wanda) Walker, Detroit,  three sisters, Brenda Walker, Alabama, Doris Ephriam,  Alabama, and Debra Pruitt, Alabama, and a host of nieces, nephews, five grandchildren, and two great grand children. Esther was preceded in death by her mother and father, daughter, son, four brothers and two sisters. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Stinson's Funeral Home in Detroit, MI. 

There will be a celebration of life at Stinson's Funeral Home, on August 26, 2022. Family hour starts at 11am with service to immediately follow. Stinson's is located at  at 16540 Meyers Road,  Detroit, Michigan 48235.
