Esther Madeleine Murphy Stacy, a recent resident of Cheshire, CT, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2023, at the age of 81, after a brief illness. She was born on October 27, 1941, the youngest of 8 children, of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Fitzpatrick) Murphy, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Murray and her husband, Kevin of Cheshire, CT, and son John Stacy and his wife, Lisa of Southborough, MA. Esther also had three grandchildren Owen and Sparrow Murray, and Sophie Stacy.

Esther was proud to be 100% Irish. Esther came from humble beginnings. She was determined to provide a better life for herself and her children and she did so. 

Her intelligence, drive and determination supported professional success as a real estate agent at Coldwell Banker and this allowed her to honor her wanderlust and travel extensively. She also had a passion for art and history. She became a docent at the Danforth Art Museum and took great pleasure in learning and sharing her knowledge and passion about art with others. 

Esther’s legacy of providing for family, her love of art, history and travel lives on in her children and grandchildren and they are grateful. Her vibrant, adventurous spirit will be deeply missed but cherished by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
