Estera's obituary
Estera Baptiste, born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on January 1, 1930, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, at the age of 94. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was defined by strength, perseverance, and love.
In the early years of her life, Estera embarked on a courageous journey to America, carrying with her a dream of a better future for her family. With unwavering determination, she built a life for her four children—Wade, Pierre, Esther, and Josue Baptiste—free from the weight of immigrant stigma. Her pride in her Haitian heritage never wavered, and she instilled the traditional values of hard work, respect, and community in each of her children.
Estera worked as an independent housekeeper, dedicating herself to her work with dignity and grace until her body could no longer support her labor. She raised her children with love and sacrifice, ensuring that they had the opportunities she dreamed of when she first arrived in the United States.
She is survived by her four children, 10 grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends who mourn her passing and cherish her memory.
Estera Baptiste’s legacy is one of resilience, love, and faith. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be celebrated in a private ceremony surrounded by those she loved. A celebration of life will follow the private ceremony for those who would like to pay their respects. Please reach out to any of her children for details.
The family kindly requests that all gifts or donations be sent to the family’s homestead.
