Our Final Thank You

Family & Friends,

It has now been 15 days since January 20, and in such a short period of time, we have done so much together. We cleared out Mom’s apartment, and she is now settled with me. Life has moved quickly, even as our hearts are still catching up.

Grief is ever-present. Some days are gentle, and some days are deeply sad. What has sustained us is that we are a close family, holding space for one another, moving through this season with love and care.

With full hearts, we want to say THANK YOU.

Thank you to everyone who honored Mom by attending her memorial service.
Thank you for the beautiful flowers.
Thank you for the financial love and support.
Thank you for the cards, the messages, the photos, and the most touching notes—each one moved us more than words can express.

Mom was truly loved, and that love has surrounded our family in ways we will never forget.

Thank you to everyone who continues to check on me and gently asks, “Are you okay today?”
Thank you for allowing our family the grace to be quiet but still close—because sometimes grief is too painful for words.

Please know that we feel your love, and it is all because of Mrs. Essie Mae Williams.

I am forever grateful that she is my mother—
a grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, confidant, auntie, wife, and Gods-child.

From time to time, we will continue to speak with you through this shared space. Please feel free to leave us a message or two—we welcome them.

Once again, family means all of you.
Thank you for everything.

Until soon,
The Williams & Hare-Bey Family
